Ian Penn, DNP, FNP-C
Ian Penn completed his undergraduate education at Gordon College with a degree in biology. After college, he worked as an EMT and lived on Catalina Island working as a marine life educator before going back to school to become a registered nurse. He completed a bachelor’s in nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and worked for five years at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on both a surgical floor and in the emergency department. He earned his master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Massachusetts Worcester and his doctorate (DNP) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His special interests include pediatrics/adolescent health, men’s health, sports medicine, fitness tracking, sustainable weight loss/fitness regimens, and a holistic approach to care directed at maximizing functionality and quality of life. His personal interests include running, cycling, swimming, surfing, sailing, hiking, and finding adventure in the outdoors. He currently resides in Brockton with his wife, two children, and dog/running partner.
